Unexpected Trip

First of all, FYI, we postponed the auction of our house because the weather was so bad we didn't have good enough turn out at the open house.

Anyway.

One of the exciting things about being married to a pilot is how things sometimes pop up all the sudden. On May 29th we suddenly had the chance to go to Jared's parent's house far away and see several of our family members. We were gone a week and I took lots of pictures-- it may take me a few posts over the next few days to get them all up here, especially since the cable internet guy did not come when he was supposed to and we're still dialing up (yawn).

So, the first day of our trip we went to see my sister Emily and Ellie finally got to meet her cousin Sophie who is 4 months older.

They like each other.

Ellie pulls the funniest faces, don't you think? Emily found that caterpillar outfit for her at a thrift store.

We also saw my sister Charlotte, who hadn't met Ellie yet. Charlotte says she doesn't like babies much, but she did a good job holding Ellie for a moment (dry-clean only jacket, watch out!) and managed not to look too miserable. Charlotte was actually very good with my kids the several times she interacted with them during the week. We went swimming at her condo one day and she held Joey and Sam in the water and helped them learn some swimming skills. So she has more maternal skills than she thinks, says I.

OK, the picture of Charlotte is supposed to be here and Blogger is being weird and made it disappear. Hmm. I think I'll continue this in a new post.
