I've known for ages that I wanted to get into sprouting and I've always just been... intimidated or something. Finally I bought this nifty sprouter and now I have sprouts! My own sprouts. I am so pleased. There are actually two more trays that go under this so you can do 3 kinds of sprouts at once. I get to do lots of sprouting experiments!

I've been called Birrd by my family for years. I hope it's because I'm cheerful and pleasant to be around. I'm also curious and creative. Since becoming a mother, I have found great creative satisfaction in pursuing the traditional homemaking arts such as scratch baking, canning, gardening, quilting, and sewing. I homeschool my children and find this to be a fascinating and rewarding challenge. I am a devout Christian of the Latter-day Saint variety and as such am completely devoted to my family. I have a marvelous husband (the Badger), boys who are nine (Bean) and seven (Fish), and three small girls-- five-year-old Roo, three-year-old Rabbit, and a very small Peanut.

Where'd you get the sprouter? Where do you get the seeds for the sprouts?

I ordered the sprouter on WorldHealthDepot.com. I know you can make a sprouter from a canning jar with holes poked in the lid, but this thing is easier for a beginner like me (and it does three kinds at once!) The seeds I bought like 2 years ago at a health food store and they've been sitting in my pantry ever since. Now that they are used up I have to figure out where I'm going to get seeds. I can sprout things in my food storage like wheat and lentils (lentil sprouts are yummy) or I can buy "sprouting grade" seeds. I have a lot to learn still!
