Aren't We Blessed!

I got this idea from "Teaching Children Joy" by Linda and Richard Eyre: to teach children gratitude, periodically say "Aren't we blessed?" when sitting down to a meal, or arriving somewhere safe in the car, or other small situations where we Are blessed but don't often realize it.

This has been a huge hit with my kids. Now I forget to say it, but they don't. We were just all downstairs eating lunch and Joey said "Aren't We Blessed!" and Sam said "We ARE blessed! By Jesus!"

I love those kind of parent paychecks.
