About Me

I've been called Birrd by my family for years. I hope it's because I'm cheerful and pleasant to be around. I'm also curious and creative. Since becoming a mother, I have found great creative satisfaction in pursuing the traditional homemaking arts such as scratch baking, canning, gardening, quilting, and sewing. I homeschool my children and find this to be a fascinating and rewarding challenge. I am a devout Christian of the Latter-day Saint variety and as such am completely devoted to my family. I have a marvelous husband (the Badger), boys who are nine (Bean) and seven (Fish), and three small girls-- five-year-old Roo, three-year-old Rabbit, and a very small Peanut.

I enjoyed your baby pic! You were a beautiful child and you are right Sam looks just like you. Although, you posted a pic of yourself as a baby previously and I thought Ellie was the spitting image of you too.
The Daddy daughter shots are soooo cute! I can't wait to have some pictures like that coming from our house.
Good idea with the laundry basket! You can tell she loved it.
You know you are so insightful on how we view our kids. I used to feel the same way about children's accomplishments and shrugged them off. Now I eat up ever new thing they do! What a joy it is to watch them learn and grow right before your eyes!!! I'll just gush over little Sam's wonderful drawing, it's one for the books.
I love all your handiness in the kitchen. Do you remember when we used to dream about doing things like that "someday"? You are living that Someday we were dreaming of! Those peaches look like they are straight out of the Martha Stewart catalog and that bread looks heavenly. I got a kick out of Jared giving you a funny look when he found out it was in the bathroom, lol. Too funny!
