Huge Accomplishment

I LOVE to can. However, Ellie does NOT love for me to can. So getting 3 batches of peaches done today was an enormous accomplishment. I won't be able to do much more this year, but something in my inner rhythms won't let me go into the winter season without putting up some food for my family. It's part of my efforts to live in harmony with the seasons. I find when I respect the seasonal flow I don't get depressed in the winter. I am so excited about all the projects I have saved up for the months when I don't have to can and garden. But for now, I've got lots of work to do!


These peaches are a variety called "Elegant Lady." They sure can pretty, don't they?
