Monumental Summer
The weather turned cool yesterday, and I'm ready for fall. Last night I was pondering all the things the kids have learned over the summer:
Ellie:
Learned to crawl, sit up, pull herself up to furniture
Cut her first two teeth
Started putting everything in her mouth
Expanded her range of vocal noises
Began to play on the floor with her baby toys for long periods of time
Sam:
Stopped running away in public
Learned to buckle his car seat buckle by himself
Started drawing recognizable pictures
Learned a lot about how to be really helpful around the house, picking up toys and unloading the dishwasher
Learned how to pick things from the garden when they are ripe
Learned about seasons and days of the week and calendars
Started dressing himself
POTTY TRAINED!!!!!
Joey:
Learned to ride a bike without training wheels
Learned to go across the monkey bars
Started asking me "what letter does that start with?"
Learned to button his own Sunday shirts
Became better at sitting and listening to short stories that don't have pictures
Learned to use polite words without being reminded
Learned a lot about time, calendars, and money
Learned how to pick things from the garden when they are ripe
Learned that watching spooky movies at friends' houses gives him bad dreams
Became familiar with all the stories in the church's illustrated Bible Stories book

Wow, what a mile stone summer!!! It really is amazing watching these beautiful children learn and grow. Really helped me to ponder on my 3 little sponges. I love how you think of such sweet things to write about. Just makes my day!!!
What a wonderful Birrd's nest! I do enjoy the kids' expressions. Aren't digital cameras amazing??
